Shipping policy

Aroid Asia specializes in the international shipping of live aroid plants. We prioritize plant health, careful preparation, and full compliance with export regulations to ensure a smooth and reliable delivery experience for our customers.


1. Shipping Coverage

We ship live ornamental plants internationally, subject to the import regulations of each destination country.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that live plants are allowed to enter their country. If you are unsure, please contact us before placing an order.


2. Shipping Methods

a. Cargo Shipping (USA Only)

  1. Cargo shipping is available exclusively for shipments to the USA.

  2. This shipping option does not require an Import Permit or Green Label from the buyer.

  3. Cargo shipments are dispatched approximately twice per month.

  4. Shipments are handled in cooperation with our partners in New Jersey or Miami, requiring additional transit time for Quality Control and Repacking.

  5. This method is highly recommended due to its historically low risk of damage.

  6. Domestic shipping within the USA is handled via USPS Regular Service.

  7. Upgrade to Next Day Service is available upon request via customer service and requires additional fees based on destination.


b. DHL Express

  1. Available for all destination countries, including the USA.

  2. Buyers are required to provide a valid Import Permit and Green Label, in accordance with the regulations of the destination country.

  3. Shipments are sent directly from our greenhouse to the recipient’s address, without transit or consolidation.

  4. All import duties, taxes, and customs fees are determined by local authorities and the courier and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.


3. Shipping & Phytosanitary Fees

All orders are charged using a split-fee system, consisting of:

a. Phytosanitary Certificate Fee

  • $20 per order
    This fee covers laboratory inspection and issuance of the official Phytosanitary Certificate, which is mandatory for international plant exports.

b. Shipping Fee (Flat Rate per Order)

Shipping rates by destination:

  • USA: $40 (Cargo or DHL Express)

  • Europe & Canada: $55 (DHL Express)

  • Asia: $50 (DHL Express)

  • South America: $155 (DHL Express)

There is no minimum or maximum quantity of plants per shipment.

Customers located outside the USA are eligible for free shipping on purchases of $700 and above.
Customers located within the USA can enjoy free shipping on purchases of $1.000 and above.

The free shipping benefit will be applied once the required minimum order amount has been met during checkout


4. Processing & Preparation Time

All plants undergo a mandatory preparation process before export, including:

  • Plant inspection and preparation

  • Laboratory inspection

  • Issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate

  • Secure export-standard packaging

Estimated processing time: 7–14 business days
(This timeline may vary depending on inspections, public holidays, or weather conditions.)


5. Transit Time

Transit time depends on the destination country and customs clearance procedures.

  • Average international delivery time: 3–5 business days after dispatch

Delays may occur due to customs inspections, weather conditions, or courier handling beyond our control.


6. Export Documentation

Aroid Asia handles all required export documents, including:

  • Phytosanitary Certificate

  • Commercial Invoice

  • Packing List

  • Other standard export documents (if applicable)

📌 Buyers do not need to prepare any documents when using Cargo Shipping.
📌 Buyers using DHL Express must provide a valid Import Permit.


7. Plant Condition & Natural Variations

Live plants are natural products. Minor conditions such as:

  • Small leaf spots

  • Minor cosmetic damage

  • Temporary shipping stress

are considered normal and do not affect long-term plant health.

We do not ship plants with serious health issues.


8. Customs, Import Permits & Taxes

For DHL Express shipments, all customs processes, import permits, duties, and taxes (if applicable) are the responsibility of the buyer.

Aroid Asia is not responsible for delays, confiscation, or additional costs caused by local regulations.


9. Claims & Refund Policy

Claims are accepted only if:

  • The plant arrives severely damaged or Dead on Arrival (DOA)

  • Clear photos or videos are submitted within 24 hours of delivery

  • The shipping box, labels, and plant condition are clearly visible

Claims submitted after 24 hours will not be accepted.

Due to the nature of live plants, refunds or replacements are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.


10. Order Confirmation

Once an order is placed:

  • Orders are final

  • Cancellations are not accepted after 3 days from the order date

  • Plant changes are allowed before laboratory inspection begins

  • Shipping fees are non-refundable once processing has started
